Small international market with a very nice owner who was willing to answer all thr questions I had. Will be building his West African selection as well, so long as people request and buy. So if you’re West African come through!
I moved here from NYC, and was missing true authentic food from other countries. Went here last week, and pick up some things to make chicken masala (curry) and the vibe, and smell and hospitality was incredible. Highly recommend
Love the diversity in spices! There are a few international markets in town but Achachi is the only one that carries West African staples and goods. Such a necessary addition after years of trying to find substitutes. So glad they're here!!
If you need African products you can get them here. They have been very helpful with purchasing what they don't have in stock if you tell them you need it. Prices can be slightly higher than traveling out of Athens to purchase things which I consider a win-win. One thing they probably need to work on is the payment per lb for items such as plantains. The price makes them stay long in stock and even become ruined. You will always find ripe plantains here.
